All of our volunteers give back to our industry in many important ways. Each year, the NCA recognizes one outstanding volunteer who stands out for his/her overall leadership and contributions during the past year.
The award is presented at the NCA Annual Convention.

2024 Volunteer of the Year: Kathryn Lawson

The National Coffee Association (NCA) is proud to name Kathryn Lawson of Nestlé USA as the recipient of the 2024 NCA Volunteer of the Year Award, sponsored by Eight O'Clock Coffee Company, in recognition of her efforts bringing expert scientific insights and critical analysis to the coffee community.
In addition to her role as Nestlé’s Director for Regulatory and Scientific Affairs, Ms. Lawson has served on the NCA’s Science Leadership Council (SLC) since 2020. She began serving as SLC Chair in early 2023, leading the SLC’s strategic direction and operational workstream. She excels at bringing together experts with diverse views to facilitate progress and enable consensus as the coffee industry navigates complex issues.
