Most of the risks in coffee manufacturing facilities, such as from hot equipment, are easily visible and can be readily addressed. Other hazards are less obvious, such as invisible airborne emissions associated with roasting coffee or crush hazards from equipment or high racking of pallets.
NCA has compiled resources to help coffee companies ensure that their workplaces are safe. Some of these materials have been curated from third party materials. In other cases, such as with respect to invisible emissions such as CO2, CO and diacetyl, these resources are based upon a variety of sources, including work commissioned by the NCA.
